Windows 2008 slow over WAN link
Hi, i m doing fresh installation for set of windows 2008 servers in new branch office. WAN link - 2M (not utilized for any other purposes)servers are up to date.to copy file from 2k8 server(branch office) to head office, 2k3 takes long time(less than 1mb per min.) to copy file from 2k3 server(Head office) to branch office takes very less time(more than 10mb per min.) even to access 2k3 server at HO form 2k8 server via remote desktop not possible(stuck in logon screen on remote pc(2k3/xp)but to coping file inside branch site is normal (2k3->2k8 , 2k8->2k3, 2k8->2k8) i had followed bellow articles as well (registry edit).http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverfiles/thread/e55022a4-db65-4dc9-a2f1-96b7f5d8e2fapls. advice.Dilan Manjula Fernando.

Have you already run an NetDiag?Netdiag.exe tool has beendeprecated in Vista and Windows Server 2008. However, if you copy Netdiag.exe Windows server 2003 to server 2008 and give a shot.Certifications: MCSA 2003 MCSE 2003

Netdiag.exe tool has beendeprecated in Vista and Windows Server 2008. Yeah, why is that? However, if you copy Netdiag.exe Windows server 2003 to server 2008 and give a shot. I get: The procedure entry point I_NetNameCanonicalize could not be located in the dynamic link library NETAPI32.dll.

Hi, Whats the type of the network connection on both your head office and branch office? Are thye T1 lines? If the branch office is ADSL line and head office is T1 line, this issue may occur.
