Hello all, first time posting here.... A field engineer is asking me if I've ever heard of a Win2k8 server (32bit) that only allows you to run the services.msc command from Start>Run if you use the "Run as administrator.." option? He also tried installing a couple of programs that failed and he could only succeed if he ran the .exe's with the "Run as administrator.." command. I'm thinking its a group policy of some sort on the clients domain? I've searched the googles and this site now for about 30mins with no luck.

Hi, I think it is the UAC (user access control) which require the adminstrator to elevate before he can perform any administrative task on the Windows Server 2008 server. Is there any message prompted when you attemtp to open Services.msc without Run as Administrator? How it works if you temporarily disable the UAC on the server?
