Windows 2008 custom certificate request - no templates available
I have a windows 2008 standard edition server acting as a stand-alone root CA.On clients, i try to create a custom cert request as per this article or any other article which is very similarhttp://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Vista-Windows-Server-2008-Advanced-Certificate-Request-Wizard.htmlThe issue is, i have no certificate templates to choose from! This is agrrivating - as surprisingly enough i dont know, or want to setup another CA to find the exact settings i need for a DC cert.Does anyone know how to get these templates to display ?

Hi, Standalone CA has no templates. You need to use certreq to submit the certificate request. Please refer to the "How to use the Certreq.exe utility to create and submit a certificate request that includes a SAN" section of the following article. How to add a Subject Alternative Name to a secure LDAP certificate http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931351 For your information: Certreq.exe Syntax http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc736326.aspx Thanks.
