Windows 2008 and Windows 7 My documents
Hello, We have a Windows 2008 R2 server and have just added our first few Window 7 clients to our domain. For some reason the users home folder on the file server no longer say their name but "My Documents", we seem to have loads of them now, what is happening, it seems Windwos 7 or 2008 is rnaming them. Thanks

Hi, Check the GPO applied for folder redirection. Run rsop.msc and check the results. Thanks.

Hi, To work around this behavior, you have three methods: Create a subfolder under the redirected folder in the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path. Grant the user exclusive rights to the redirected folder. Do not grant the Read permission to the administrator for the Desktop.ini files on the server. For the detailed steps, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article: When you redirect the Documents folder on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7-based computer to a network share, the folder name unexpectedly changes back to Documents http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947222 Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
