Windows 2008 Server--- Disk space missing
Hi Everyone,I'm using 160GB of HDD in my Windows 2008 Server. i was surprise when i saw the messages (no disk apace available) when i was check the disk properties it's really full but when i open the disk (drive C: ) and show the properties of all files and docs right in there it shown only 35gb of files. However, i was check all the folders inside the drives but unfortunately i cannot found the other files. Does anyone have been experienced this issue?your immediate respond would be appreciated..Sincerely,rebenjz26

Hi,
I believe you did not show hidden files.
Please use the following steps to show hidden files:
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Click Organize, click Folder and Search Options.
3. On the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders.
4. Uncheck the boxes before Hide extensions for known file types and Hide protected operating system files (Recommanded).
5. Click OK.
Now open your Drive C again and you will see hidden files.

Hi,
How many partitions are on your computer?
Click Start and click Computer. Click the arrow beside Views and click Details.
What are the Total Size and Free Space of Drive C?
Open Drive C and you can manually calculate the total size of all files and folders in it. (Please do not forget to calculate the folders sizes).

I have the exact same problem that disk space is disappearing in Server 2008 R2 system partition - c: drive. With precious SSD space, I would really appreciate it if someone can help me find this missing 50GB of disk space. I counted all files, folders,
and hidden files. The only suspicious hidden folder is System Volume Information which shows 0 byte.
Thank you.
