Windows 2008 R2 Duplicate directories on server, one in blue. Delete or rename either and one disappears.

Never seen this before:

I have two directories on my file server under other main directories each with the exact same name.

Example: 123 and 123.

One is a normal, accessible directory containing the files I work with: No issues with it.

The other file name with the same name is highlighted in Blue and appears to be just a link to the other file of the same name, as when I attempt to access the files there, I receive a message that the files no longer exist.

If I delete the "blue" linked file, the non-blue linked file becomes the primary, and I cannot access anything.

If I rename blue linked file as well, the same thing happens.

What could be the issue?

i know that Blue means compressed files, but I am not doing any of that as the drive is high capacity.
