Windows 2008 Indexing Service Noise Words
Does anyone know how to add/change the words that the Indexing Service on a Windows 2008 Web Server RC2 ignores. I have played with the noise.dat and noise.enu and it has no effect adding words to them. I have shut down the service and rebuilt the indexes
following my changes with no success. There is little or no documentation I can even find on the subject (for 2008). I have beat my head on this rock long enough ...

Hi,
I think the following Microsoft KB articles are what you want:
How to install and configure the Indexing Service on a Windows Server 2008-based computer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954822
How to Edit Index Server Noise-Word Lists

This document does not apply to Windows 2008 Web Server RC2. For example, the instructions tell you to add it as a role. On this version of Windows,
it only exists as an optional feature. In any case, installation is not my issue. I have got it up and running ... I have my catalogs configured ... I have edited the word lists, as described by the other Retired Knowledge Base article ... and I have had no
success. My issue is not a simple setup issue. I have build an ASP interface to query the index and I can tell from my results that the index is not ignoring certain words. Altering the word lists are not having the desired effect ... What could be causing
this?

Hi,
I would like to confirm that the actual operating system edition is Windows Server 2008 R2 Web Edition or not?
According to the problem description, this issue is related to ASP .Net. For ASP .Net issue, the best resource is MSDN forum.
