Windows 2008 Foundation
Many IT professionals either like to have or need to have a server OS on their laptops and Foundation is a good choice. In my case, I use it out of the office for development and demonstrations. The problem is that every hour or so, I get these annoying pop-ups stating that if it cannot connect to the domain controller, it will shut down in xx days yy hours and, of course, the domain controller is back in the office. I understand perfectly why this has been done, but it looks horribly unprofessional - How can I shut these off permanently? Hi U.B, Thanks for postinger here. Is this computer a menber of domain ? According the discription of technet, This error occurs when the server cannot finish checking the requirements for the root domain, forest trust configuration, or both. It usually happens when the server cannot connect to a domain controller. So please check if it worked with rejoin domain. Pleae reference to section "To rejoin the domain at the root" and alos please read section "Active Directory limits" of the article below: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744832(WS.10).aspx Thanks.
