Looks like it's not possible I found this in the Windows 2008 wiki page Server Core is available in the Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter editions. It is not available in Web edition or in the Itanium edition. It is important to note that Server Core is simply a server role supported by some of the editions, it is not a separate edition by itself. As of Beta 3, each edition has a separate evaluation DVD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Server_2008 In the RC0 release notes you can find this information When installing a Server Core installation of Windows Server2008 on an x86-based or x64-based server, you will be prompted during Setup to install one of the following options. http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/6/3/e63cf2f6-7f71-450b-8e4a-dace88e99456/readme.htm#BKMK_3 Deli
