Windows 2008 : Not able to Access the Shared Folder from IP Address. Its accessible by using FQDN.
Hello,
While accessing shared folder of aaaa.xyz.com (192.168.22.1) from
bbbb.xyz.com (10.100.10.1) Domain using IP address we
are getting the following error. But Its accessible using FQDN.
While accessing shared folder of bbbb.xyz.com (10.100.10.1) From
aaaa.xyz.com (192.168.22.1) Both way its happening.
aaaa.xyz.com is having OS Windows 2003 Server
bbbb.xyz.com is having OS Windows 2008 Server
Please help me to fix this issue.

Thanks for posting here.
Will system resolve the FQDN aaaa.xyz.com to192.168.22.1 if we perform “nslookup aaaa.xyz.com” on client ? please check and post back the results here.
Meanwhile, could please first clean the ARP and DNS cache on client and see if will work properly with IP address.
Clean ARP Cache : ARP –d . Clean DNS cache: ipconfig
/flushdns .

Just an idea:There is slight difference, that may play the role. If you write in Run
\\ip_address
nothing happens but after adding backslash
\\ip_address\
and all shared folders would apprear in the list.
Would you reveal which syntax have you used. Hope it looks like this one
net use t: \\IP_address\shared_folder password /user:domain_name\user_name
