Windows 2008 64 bit - Hardware Requirments?
I have a intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80Ghz Cpu with 2.00 GB RAM , CAn I Install Windows 2008 64bit R2 Server version. Because I have microsoft exchange 2010 64 bit version, I havent really needed 64 bit version, but the formal IT guy ordered everything 64 bit. So I guess the question i am havnig can I install Windows 64 bit versions on the same hardware as a 32 version of the same software. -martin Martin Enriquez TechNet Forums

Shouldn't be a problem. May not be an issue but it is not recommended to install exchange on a DC Here are minimum requirements. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/system-requirements.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719.aspx Regards, Dave Patrick .... Hi Martin, Thanks for posting here. What’s the specific model of your Pentium 4? Since Windows Server 2008 R2 can only be installed with 64bit CPU, just make sure your CPU is support 64bit instruction set: http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyID=581&MarketSegment=DT Thanks.
