Windows 2008R2 - Cannot Add Server Role: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COM Exception (0x80070422)
Server Manager will not allow a change of roles and I see the above error logged. So far, I have have followed the threads that have worked for others with no positive result: I have run dcomcnfg.exe per: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971509 and those settings check out OK There is no CbsUpdateState.bin in the server manager cache, so nothing to restore. The is no Symantec AV installed on this Hyper-V host. Where else should I be looking? System Update Readiness Report: No errors. You hit the nail on the head, first time. Well done and thanks! The "Windows Modules Installer" was disabled. Thanks! Charles.
