Windows 2003 x64 restarts randomly
Hi,I am running Windows Server 2003 EE R2 SP2 x64 on a Dell PE 2950.The server reboots for no apparent reason every once in a while (usually a week or so).We use Remote Desktop to work on the machine as it is easier than going to the server room every time we want to work on it.Initially we thought it's because of Remote Desktop but now I noticed that even when no one is logged on it restarts, and upon the next logon I see the screen saying "Windows restarted unexpectedly", with some error codes. Here are a couple of error messages from the Event Log:----------------first error message-----------------------
Error code 0000000000000050, parameter1 fffffadf3989b977, parameter2 0000000000000000, parameter3 fffffadf29427290, parameter4 0000000000000000.------------The reason supplied by user machine1\administrator for the last unexpected shutdown of this computer is: System Failure: Stop errorReason Code: 0x805000fBug ID: Bugcheck String: 0x00000050 (0xfffffadf3989b977, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffffadf29427290, 0x0000000000000000)Comment: 0x00000050 (0xfffffadf3989b977, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffffadf29427290, 0x0000000000000000)

Has anyone seen similar issues like this?Any help you can provide is much appreciated.Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Based on the Bugcheck String: 0x00000050, the server unexpectedly restart issue possibly caused by incompatibility of the hardware on the Hardware Abstraction Layer.
Please follow the steps and then monitor if the issue will re-occur.
Steps.
1. Right-click "My Computer" and select "Properties" on the desktop
2. Click on the "Advanced"
3. Click "Settings" in the area of "Startup and Recovery"
4. In the prompt dialog box, uncheck the "Automatically restart" in the area of "System failure"
5. Click OK.
If the issue still exist, we need to analyze the dump file to solidly locate the root cause. In this way, I would like to suggest that you contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with you.
You may obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below:

I was getting the same problem. I had not completed the installation process. Small Business Server 2003 REQUIRESyes set everything up. If you do not, it will do the random restart thing.
