Windows 2003 what files can be removed?
Dell Powerserve 2600, Windows 2003 with all current updates. The C: partition is full and I have removed all the known extra files, that can safely be removed. Can not take the downtime to re-partition and reload the software. The question is what windows files can I remove that are not essential? Is it safe to remove any system zip files that exist? Can files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\download be removed? Can files in C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 be removed? Can files in C:\Windows\$NTServicePackUninstall$ be removed? I understand this will probably not allow me to uninstall any updates, which I never have done anyway. Can files in C:\Windows\ie8updates\KB________-IE8 be removed?Any others that are expendable? Thanks, Steve
