Windows 2003 server Memory limits
Hi All, I have a quick question. I have a HP proliant DL380 G3 server installed with windows Server 2003 Standard (SP2). There are 5GB of Physical memory installed on that machine but under system properties I can only see 3.5 GB. If I enable PAE , will that shows the total 5 GB memory? I have plan to updrade memory up to total of 8GB on this server. is that ok? many Thanks

Hi, The maximum memory that 32 bit of Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2 (SP2) Standard Edition support is 4 GB if you have PAE enabled. In this way, if you have a video card need shared memory from system, you may only find 3.5GB in system propriety. Best Regards, Vincent Hu
