Windows 2003 Small Business Server SP2 Remote Desktop
After installing SP2 on aWindows 2003 Small Buiness Server I have lost the ability to Remote Desktop to it. I have checked and Remote Desktop is still Enabled and Terminal Services are still running. Checked the registry and those entries look correct as well. Any Suggestions?

I would check the security settings and make sure that the firewall isn't up-in-arms about something. Then, I would check the event log. After that, I would try network connectivity (ping, nslookup, etc). I would also try to connect to the machine from itself. You will get an error that says something like "you are already connected to this machine and you cannot open another console session" - if you get something ominous, it might point you in the right direction. Are you getting a particular error when you try to connect? Something about maximum sessions or invalid credentials?

Hello, Please try the resolution in the following KB article first. You may experience network-related problems after you install Windows Server 2003 SP2 or the Scalable Networking Pack on a Windows Server 2003-based computer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936594/en-us Please note this forum is for General questions on Windows Server 2008 and there are very many threads on other Operating systems. If the resolution doesn't help, I would like to suggest that you post this SBS related issue into the following newsgroups on this site instead: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs Thanks for your understanding. Regards, Neo Zhu -MSFT
