Windows 2003 Server user fdomain access
I have setup a Windows 2003 server, not as DC just as a basic file server. I want to give a user from the Domain Controller full access to the server. How? Seems likes such as basic function, like it is in XP. The server is a member of the domain.

Hello, add that specific user account to the local administrators security group pn the server, that's it. Open compmgmt.msc on the domain member server and add it via local users and groups.Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.

Hello, Since it is just one server then proceed like that: Run mmc and then add Local Users and groups snap-in. Once done, double click the local Administrators group and add the wanted user. If you want to apply the same on multiple computers, you can consider using Restricted groups: http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/using-restricted-groups.html Just be careful that the actual members will deleted and the ones in the group policy will be added.
