Windows 2003 Server SP2
Please advise if I have submitted to the wrong forum (again!!).
I would like some advise prior to deploying SP2 for Windows 2003 Server.
Current Servers:
DC: Windows 2003 R2 Standard SP1 (All FSMO Roles)
DC: Windows 2003 Standard SP1 (All FSMO Roles)
DC: Windows 2003 Standard SP1 (All FSMO Roles)
MS: Windows 2003 Standard SP1
MS: Windows 2003 R2 Standard SP1 (Exchange)
HP Storage Works NAS 1500s (*2)
MS: Windows 2003 Standard
I was reading the installation and deployment guide and was a little confused regards the release notes for known issues.
Active DirectoryIf you are running the initial version of Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) that was available as a download, you will not be able to directly update the computer to Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you do so, the ADAM instances may stop functioning.
How can I verify the current version of ADAM?Can I install service packs on HP Storage NAS 1500 devices?
Many Thanks for any assistance,Phil.

No, you should not install sp2 on NAS 1500. The Windows 2003 SP2 just for Windows Server 2003 standard edition and Enterprise Edition.

Any thoughts on SP2 for Windows 2003 Server?
I read a MS Article that said:
"If you are running the initial version of Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) that was available as a download, you will not be able to directly update the computer to Windows Server2003 Service Pack2(SP2). If you do so, the ADAM instances may stop functioning."
I have Windows 2003 Standard SP1 installed? Will this affect me?
Many thanks for any advice,
Phil.

It doesnt look like you even have ADAM deployed - do you? If not, no need to worry about it.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I presume ADAM is if you are running applications from the server you wish to update to SP2(Terminal Services)? If yes then no I do not have this deployed.

Phil.
