Windows 2003 Server SBS R2 lockup
I have a fairly new Windows 2003 SBS R2 server on a HP ml110 g5. The server has 4 gb of ram, (3) 250gb SATA drives connected to a e200 RAID 5 controller. I have a HP Storageworx 160GB RDX drive for a backup. The server is fully patched and all firmware is at the latest rev. What is happening is that the server will lockup each night between 8:00pm - 9:00pm. I've checked for any power issues and cleaning crew issues and none were found. I did see where the Volume Shadow Copy was running prior to the server freeze so I disabled the VSS on the drives and shutoff the NTBackup. This didn't help. It locked up at 10:02pm last night and nothing in the logs were even close to the time of the lockup. I've checked the server for viruses and spyware. The Server is connected to a Smart UPS using the windows software as the shutdown agent. I've run the HP Offline Diagnostics and they were fine. I updated the VSS software. I can't seem to find an answer. I've googled this problem till I can't see straight. Any help would be great. I'm not running any of the HP agents. I also have an identical system that has had no problems at all. I try to keep my servers the same. Also whe the users arrive onsite in the morning, the power light and the hard drive light will be solid. They can turn the num lock on and off but the server screen says that there is no signal.Chris Goodwin
