Windows 2003 Server Licensing
I have an windows 2003 server standard instaled on a server. When we bought the server, we bought too the windows server 2003 standard with five CAL´s. We dont have a domain created, and this server is on a workgroup. It works like a file server only. we have 25 machines that are using the shares. We dont have any problems on acessing the shares. I make the folowing question : as i dont have a domain, i dont needto buy any cals. Is that right ? The experience says that i dont need licencies to use the shares, as i told. Please answer if i am right . If there was a problem, i should not be able to connect more than five clients at same time. Like an windows xp machine, i would be not able no connect more than five machines. Please make your comments. Thank You.
