Windows 2003 Data Access via VPN
Hi Guys I have this scenario. I had two windows 2003 server (Main AD and secondary AD) The secondary AD worked as a file server with IP (192.168.X.10) after a hardware failure if replaced the Secondary AD and replicated it with the primary AD and moved all data as per my previous but with a different IP (192.168.X.9) Before the hardware failure I used to access my data well through a VPN. But after changing to the new server I can only ping the server via VPN but when I try access data via VPN I get a security error. Nothing has changed on the router. Please advice. Hello, I had two windows 2003 server (Main AD and secondary AD) There is no main AD and secondary AD. All DCs are RW except RODCs. For access, make sure that the left DC is pointing to its private IP address as primary DNS server and to 127.0.0.1 as secondary one. Once done, run ipconfig /registerdns and restart netlogon on the DC (Note that it is recommended to have at least two DC / DNS GC servers per domain). If the DC is unrecoverable then you have to perform a metadata cleanup and resize FSMO roles that the lost DC was holder. Also please make sure that NTFS and Share permissions are well configured and that you don't have ports 445 and 53 blocked.
