We recently rebooted a windows 2000 server. After the reboot, checkdisk started, but after several hours it remained at 0% on the index phase. It says that we can press any key to cancel the checkdisk. When we try to cancel, checkdisk is unresponsive. We've taken steps to confirm that the disks it is checking are ok, so I think that once we get past checkdisk the machine will be useable again. Can you offer any advice about how to cancel checkdisk? Thanks in advance

Thanks Arthur. We'll try that out. We managed to work around the problem by renaming the checkdisk executable, but your solution seems cleaner.
