Windows 2000 Server printer dissappears
I have a Windows 2000 SP4 Server that is also my PDC and print server. Whenever I reboot the server one of my printers always has to be reinstalled. All of the rest of the printers remain and function properly. Once I reinstall the printer it works fine until the next reboot then the same thing happens. The printer is connected to the network via an HP Jetdirect. There are three identical printers on this jetdirect (3 port jetdirect) and all of them print from the same server. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the printer to no avail. Please help.

Hi,Thanks for the post.I would like to confirm if this issue occurs with any of the printers. What's the exact model of the problematic printer?Have you tried to contact HP support to check if there is any setting or compatibility issue? Thanks,Miles

Hi,Before restart the server, restart the spooler service.
