Yes, they can, as long as your 2008 AD is running in a mixed mode. (I think there was a ad client installation, but foggy on that this morning, no coffee..., At a a location I was at, we just finished putting the steak through the heart
of some old 2000 servers that were business critical) I would look at bing! and search for Active Directory 2008 Installation and configuration info. I would suggest you ponder upgrading your clients, if your still on Windows 2000, it ended all
support in March of 2007 by MS.-- :P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.

Hello,
as you are talking about PC i assume this are user OS workstations and not domain controllers, then yes. DCs belong to the used forest/domain functional levels.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi,
You can add this Windows Server 2000 PC as a member server, but cannot be a domain controller. For more information, please refer to the following Microsoft

Hello,
if they are just members of your domain then yes. There is no problem with that.
If you want to add them as DCs then this depends of your DFL.
Note that Windows 2000 OS is not yet supported and for that I don't recommend using it.

Absolutely, as long as they are workstations/clients.
The real question is why you want PC's running an insecure OS on your network. MS has not provided updates for a very long time now, so you risking a very big problem by letting them on the network.
