Windows 10 and MSSQL errors

Ho Ahmed,

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 and discovered that my MSSQL 2010 /2012 Express editions do not work any longer. I checked and they are not compatible with Windows 10. I uninstalled them  and downloaded MSSQL 2014 sp1 and tried to install with the following error; Setup Install error Line 1 pos 94047 and error code 0x84B10001.

I need to get this or any version up and running asap on Windows 10.

Regards.

Chris.

SP1 required for SQL Server 2014 That service pack makes SQL Server 2014 compatible with Windows 10 as mentioned in the following article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2681562

After applying SP1, please read the solution provided on the following thread:

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/7d04e27c-3789-4e23-86dc-31eaf29229c0/major-authentication-problem-after-pc-reboot?forum=sqlsetupandupgrade#9e52b1ee-a42a-443e-841f-66ec7da2715e

Also read the post mentioned by CSS about 2014 SP1.

Always have the latest patches and updates but make sure you have them tested before deploing the same on PROD.

What exactly you mean by this. SQl Server will definitely work. If you can tell your exact problem I can help.

Hello,

Please share with us the Summary.txt log file created by SQL Server setup. The following article may help you locate the file on disk:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143702(v=sql.120).aspx

Try to download the SQL Server media again, copy the media to a local folder (like C:\SQLMEDIA\), unzip de ISO or extract the content of the EXE file using /X, and run SQL Server setup from there.

Hope this helps.
