Window Server 2008 R2 service pack crash
Recently I rebooted after a regular update, without any prompts windows downloaded a service pack. I was leaving for vacation and I would not have applied a service pack with only one hour before I left. Again no prompts or messages that windows update was about to install a service pack. After the reboot a message displayed "configuring service pack stage 2 of 4 , 25 percent complete DO NOT REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER... so I waited .. 45 mins then server displayed login screen and froze. I had to reboot, Then message displayed service pack failed, reverting changes. Would run for about 10 mins reboot automatically and go back to reverting changes.Caught in a loop. This damn thing wiped my whole OS,After I reinstalled OS couldn't even restore a system state I had to initialize drives and format! When I tried researching a fix before, got no helpful information. Has this happened to anyone else? Why did I not receive any warnings about the install? Microsoft should pay for my company's lost time! About 30 hours of network repair.
