Hello, when an error occur, a new error event will be logged in eventviewer. If it is a BSOD then there will be a dump file that is generated. What you want to track exactly? Actually I was working on an issue which is happening in our production DC with 2008 SP2. the problem is my dc is freezing/hung if I execute any vb scripts or installing any third party software or running group policy related commands when the WER is enabled (a process werfault.exe is shown in the task manager by the user name) and the only option is to power cycle the server. I am trying to repro the problem is test environment and I've no idea how to manually force an issue to generate a WER.

For the freeze, install the latest Microsoft Windows Updates and update all possible drivers then check again. Hi, For your information, here is an overview of the data that Windows Error Reporting collects and information about data that might be collected from four different sources: Application errors Handwriting recognition errors Errors from the Japanese Input Method Editor Windows Kernel failures For more information, please check the following link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc709644(WS.10).aspx If the data you want to capture is included in the above types\sources, please refer to the above link to check whether the Windows Error Reporting is enabled and configured properly. For the current issue, “dc is freezing/hung if I execute any vb scripts or installing any third party software or running group policy related commands”, please provide us more information, such as what VB scripts, what software or commands you were trying to run. Have you checked Event Log? Any errors in the log? If so, please paste the events here for research. Thanks.
