I can't get my Win 8 PC to run Report Builder with a Sequel Server 2008 R2 database

It won't download using the Report Builder one click button on the report server, and if I download and install it on the PC manually, the software fails when I try to connect.

It works fine on a Win 7 PC though

Several posts in the forum have failed to provide a solution, so I am beginning to wonder:

Can your run Report Builder 3.0 on a Win 8 PC, and connect to a Sequel Server 200 R2 database?

Hi Tim,

Report Builder 3.0 system requirements need component Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and it is not supported in Windows 8.

Close, but no it doesn't work.

I downloaded the 2014 version of RB, and it installed fine.  Seems to connect fine (I get a login request), but eventually it fails with the attached error
