Win 2003 Server Network Connection Unpredictably On and Off
Dell PowerEdge 1400SC Server with Windows 2003 Enterprise R2, worked very well in one segment of the domain (for example: abbcc.com) with the following TCP/IP setting: IP Address: 192.168.185.28 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.185.4 DNS Server: 192.168.185.2 Now this server moved to another segment of the same domain (for example: abbcc.com), TCP/IP changed to the following: IP Address: 192.168.187.28 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.187.4 DNS Server: 192.168.187.2 All the above settings are correct, but the server's network connection is On and Off very often, when it gets disconnected, can not go Internet, can not browse sharing on other servers. This morning called a Microsoft expert, he remotely checked the server, then suggest me to purchase a new NIC first, because the NIC with the server now is pretty old (bought in year 2001, driver version is 2002). Another Dell PowerEdge 1400 server also has the same NIC, also moved from another location but it just worked very well in the new LAN. Any one can give me some clues why this server acting like this? Thanks very much!
