The headline almost says it all; I am asked to install SP1 and the installation exits.The system mmcshows that SP1 is already installed which is what I would expect since it was integrated with the release of WinSvr2008. Since I can't reinstall to fix any missing registryentries/configuration files, not sure what to do. Suggestions?

To the best of my knowledge, it is the RTM. It is build 6001/CSD build 1616 with every update except KB955430. Before attempting to install the service pack, I had already tried to install KB955430 via Windows Update. I amencountering error800B0100. BING only returns 6 hits with no solutions that I see to installing it.One thread, http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-windowsupdate/356430-kb955430-failing-server-core.html,seems to indicate that the update is incorporated into the SP2 and really isn't a pre-requisite.

We've had exactly the same issue on W2008 standard gold version 64 bit. I raised it as a support incident and MS confirmed that it IS a known bug they are currently working on. I am awaiting news of a fix. Jason
