WiFi connection problem at motels
I have a continuing problem connecting to the internet via WiFiwith my Vista machine while at motels. Happened twice in two different motels last weekend. I was only able to get a local connection while everyone else in the party, all using XP machines, had no problem. Signal strength was fine. I am able to connect to the network but I can't log into the motel network using their password and thus can't get service. Windows Explorer always comes up with a message saying that the "security certificate" is out of date and do I want to continue anyway or quit, to which I click continue anyway. I've tried using the wizard to correct the problem with no luck, it just comes back saying that the problem can't be corrected automatically....and naturally the motel front desk person has NO idea how to deal with connection problems. Once I get home my computer immedately and automatically connects to my home WIFI(WEP encripted). Do I have something set wrong for motel WIFI's? They don't use a WEP code, usually just give you password to enter on the screen that "splashes" up when connected to their network. This is a REAL PITA problem. Help?? Anyone?? Thanks in advance Paul
