Why can Windows backup not clean up the registry when it takes over a drive? (Server 2008)
I had an external drive (q:) attached to my windows 2008 server. That was used by a product which I subsequently removed (IBM GSK7). I then set up Windows backup to use the q: drive. After that was done, the q: drive letter was removed. After that any attempt to install products fails as the windows installer says that the q: drive is invalid. Shouldn't the backup configuration look through the registry and remove references to a drive that it then removes from the system?
