Which Edition should I choose?
Hi all, I am going to decide which version of windows 2008 R2(standard vs enterprise) for my domain controller(around 1300 users). Which option do I need and then I have to choose windows 2008 R2 enterprise (I know that clustering is needed)? Any RAIDUS client limitation? certificate server? Currently, we have windows 2003 standard DC and has radius and CA setup.' I checked http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/r2-compare-roles.aspx 1 Limited to creating Certificate Authorities – no other ADCS features (NDES, Online Responder Service). See ADCS role documentation on TechNet for more information. 2 Limited to 1 standalone DFS root. 3 Limited to 250 RRAS connections, 50 IAS connections and 2 IAS Server Groups. ____________________________________ Will windows 2003 standard has the same limitation as windows 2008 R2? What does the limitation 1 supposed to mean? Limitation 3 means concurrent connections? Thank you.

Thank you. I know that you need the enterprise edition when you need clustering. What else? What about the limitation? Thank you.

Hi, Will windows 2003 standard has the same limitation as windows 2008 R2? >> If you decided to use Windows Server 2008 R2, you may ignore Windows Server 2003. Compare the Editions of Windows Server 2003 http://www.microsoft.com/hk/server/windowsserver2003/evaluation/features/default.mspx What does the limitation 1 supposed to mean? >> It means that you can create Certificate Authorities without NDES, Online Responder Service. Limitation 3 means concurrent connections?] >> Yes. Best Regards, Vincent Hu
