Hello ,
Seems there is a DHCP right?
"
After installing DHCP on Windows Server 2008 R2, you may start to see the following error message in the event logs :
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine RegOpenKeyExW(-2147483646,SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSS\Diag,). hr = 080070005, Access is denied.
Inspection of the detailed tab of the event log entry will show information about the process that generated the error.
Take note of the user mentioned after the - User: Name: portion of the bytes. To resolve this error, simply give that user full permission to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\VSS registry key."
Sincerly,
Murat Demirkiran

Hi Chris ,
Then can you please try ;
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSS\Diag
Right click on Diag, go to permissions and give the service account listed under details tab in the error with full control permissions.

Hi Murat,
Yes. I could see from the example what you were describing and what I was missing. The answer was "NT SERVICE\Network Service", and I have granted him full control of the registry key ...\VSS, which is inherited by the full subtree. I have no
reason to believe that this did not fix the problem, however I have no way to test. I simply must wait for some time to see that these errors are no longer registered in the event log. I will know tomorrow. Please bump this thread if I have
not posted my results in a few days.Thanks for the help,
Chris.
