Hello,I have a customer that will be migrating all their servers from Physical to Virtual. Any good pointers on where I can look up licensing info? I did see this link "What's New in Windows Server 2003 R2 Licensing": http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/howtobuy/licensingr2/overview.mspx This site gave some useful information... although I do have a question. So Enterprise Edition is 1 license, 4 instances. If the customer has a host and is running 20 virtual machines on that one host, does that mean they have to buy an extra 16 "instance" licenses?I was also trying to find info on whether licensing is per core, per socket and cost for licensing.I still have to figure out licensing for all their MS apps too. If anyone has any pointers to that, that will be great as well.Thanks!

Hi Darrell, Thank you for pointing out this whitepaper. It is VERY helpful and looks like it has alot of the info I need!! Looks like the customer also has Windows 2003 (non R2 version) in their environment though. By chance do you know if there is an old whitepaper that talks about licenscing for that?
