Where and How to enter the Genuine License MAK Keys in Windows 2008R2 Trial Version ?

Q1) Where and How to enter the Genuine MAK Keys in Windows 2008R2 Trial Version ?
Q2) I have purchased Windows2008R2 + 5 User CAL + 5 Remote Desktop UserCAL. After entering the MAK Keys, will the existing Server limit me to 5 UserCAL or is it just a Registration of an Original License ?

Hello Kumari,
A1) You can enter the MAK License Key in Control Panel => System => On down of the screen you can see the Windows Activation place.

A2) It is a Registartion of an Original License except 5 people can RDP if you use terminal Server.

Hello,

For a production server, wed suggest you re-build your server using a full version Windows Server 2008 R2 media and activate it with your new MAK key.

Its not recommend to run a production server on a trial version Windows Server 2008 even though its activated with a legitimate license key.

Thanks
Zhang

Hello,

Kumari didnt tell if its the Evaluation version of Windows Server 2008 R2 or not.

If its Evaluation version, then changing the product key to a Retail/MAK does not remove the timer that is in the evaluation version. Which means there potentially exists the possibilities cause the server to go into an expired state. This is not what we
want it to happen on a production server. The best practice is to rebuild it with a correct product key.

Thanks
Zhang
