I have a rails app running on Linux on nosupportVPS hosting that needs a safe backup solution. From what I understand I can interact with Azure storage via a REST API so whatever language I use is irrelevant.
It is a small site, and need to backup once a week or so. The amount of data is relatively tiny, about 500 MB initially and a few dozen MB each week.
Ideally, I would love to be able to run something similar to rsync to track changes before uploading redundant data. I have two directories with various assets, mainly images and videos that can be tar and gzipped up if need be along with a postgres backup file. A sync ability would be great since the majority of what I need to backup never changes.
I would like a reasonable download speed if I need to use the backup.
Of course, as cheap as possible and from what I can tell my needs are basically free, but not really.
The backup service seems awfully pricey for my needs. Would the cloud storage fit or should I look elsewhere and just use a dirt cheap VPS?
Thanks
