What is WGASETUP.EXE
I have blocked this program and need to know what it is? I think I have been hacked and Phished and then this popped up so I blocked it. Is it a program I need? I am at my wits end trying to figure out everything that is going on. How do I get rid of a hacker? I think my Mcafee product has been corrupted as well. Thanks for any help! Please reply ASAP!

What operating system are you using? This particular forum is for Windows Server Security and I'm guessing that you're running XP, Vista, or Windows 7. If so, you'll get a better response here - http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7security/threadsThis may also help, but you should likely post in the forum I provided the link to above - http://www.google.com/search?q=wgasetup.exe&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=Paul Adare

You provided a link to a site that provides a cracked/hacked version of one of the Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage DLLs. That's not appropriate for this forum.Paul Adare

You provided a link to a site that provides a cracked/hacked version of one of the Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage DLLs. That's not appropriate for this forum.Paul Adare CTO IdentIT Inc. ILM MVP---If that were so, the site would have been taken offline already. It's a help site. It provides people who have problems with Genuine Advantage with solutions microsoft will not provide. I disagree, the post is appropriate and relevant. There's nothing wrong in critisising microsoft. Lord knows I had my share of problems with microsoft software. Another line of sight is vital to development and -apparantly- solutions. I'm sure my post is NOT abusive.Good business is where you find it. Trust will empower your Endeavour. What's the point of bumping your post? Did you even visit the site whose URL you posted? The site is clearly providing hacked DLLs designed to get around WGA. Just click the link you provided and read the right-hand column that lists previous posts. See all of the "CRACK"s listed? What in the world do you think those are?Paul Adare

It is a hack/crack site, anyone can plainly see that the site hosts cracked versions of Microsoft DLLs which is in direct violation of Microsoft's EULA. Regardless of what you happen to think of Microsoft's WGA system, providing hacked or cracked versions of Microsoft OS files is a violation of the EULA and posting links to such sites here is wrong. I'm going to contact the forum moderators directly to have your posts removed. They are inappropriate for a Microsoft hosted forum. As far as your deciding that since the site is still operating that it can't be a hack/crack site, that is a logical fallacy. Microsoft can't possibly go after every single such site on the Internet, they simply don't have the resources.Paul Adare

Fine, you do that. If any moderator agrees; my intentions are honourable and in no way malicious. If it is truly in voilation with ms' EULA I was defeneatly wrong to link to the site and I apologise. I'm simply trying to help people.Good business is where you find it. Trust will empower your Endeavour. Reliability and transparency shall form strong partnerships. Nothing exceeds lifes excess.
