How does you host obtain address ? static assign or from DHCP server ? if form DHCP , please versify if 252 options has been set and enabled .

Meanwhile, please check the proxy settings in “connection” tab of inetcpl.cpl to disable options "automatically detect network settings", "use automatic configuraiton script" and removed and disabled proxy server settings.

 

You can also try to stop and disable "WebDav Client Redirector Driver service", "WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service", "webclient" services.

Did you ever figure this out? I have done all the above, yet my clients still query for wpad on bootup and random times throughout the day.
