WINSXS Directory
Good morning,I have a question regarding the winsxs directory in server 2008. I noticed this morning that the directory started using almost 10GB's of hard drive space. Is there a way to clean this out or shrink it?Any insite would be great!Thank you,TommyTommy Rotunno

Hello Tommy.Essentially that folder is your OS so it should not be deleted:Here is a blog that talks about it http://blogs.technet.com/askcore/archive/2008/09/17/what-is-the-winsxs-directory-in-windows-2008-and-windows-vista-and-why-is-it-so-large.aspxThat folder contains your system files and is the location those files are serviced. Thanks, Darrell Gorter[MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights
