Hi,

Did you get the error message since the role is installed? You referred it worked previously, what has changed then?

Is there any other errors in event log except this one WDS server not starting in a timely fashion?

Please provide more information about the computer. Issues you have encountered previously, roles you installed on it.

the previous issue I had was a corruption within the system files on the Server, WDS was originally working fine before this with the role setup as a standalone device with just DHCP and WDS roles installed, with a completely new Server 2012 setup and these roles freshly installed i got the same error 1216, from this point i wiped server 2012 to start a fresh again but setting my server as a domain controller and re-installing these roles as a fresh again to still receive the same error. i have googled the error and tried all of the available solutions to the error 1216 but none of these have resolved my issue I am really confused and sorry if this is a very noobish question but i am a student learning how to setup a server using my own Intel server

Hi,

Did you use the old RemoteInstall folder when re-install this role?

According to the follwoing thread, this could cause issues:

WDS Error  4294966080 (0xFFFFFB40)

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/879bd54b-2b03-452b-9a92-fa6cce0e3d70/wds-error-4294966080-0xfffffb40?forum=winservergen

Please try the method referred in it. Uninitialize the server, rename the RemoteInstall folder, start the configuration wizard and re-configure it.

Hope this helps.
