WDS rights on Server 2003 SP2
Hello,
I want to know if it’s possible to add a Boot Image and configure settings on images without giving Domain or Administrator
rights. I have given full share rights to the REMINST folder. When i add a boot image, it gets all the way to the end and says Access Denied. Is there a way to delegate control of the functions on WDS without ading a user to the Domain Admin or Administrator
group? I know you can delegate control the client approvals, but I am referring to the other tasks, like Add Boot Image, Add Images, see unattened files...etc.
I really appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks,
JD

Hi JD_Canada,
In order to add a boot image in the WDS server, you will need read and write access to the following:
·
C:RemoteInstall\Boot
·
C:RemoteInstall\Admin (This folder is only present if you upgrade from Windows Server 2003).
·
%TEMP%
For more information about the required permissions in WDS, please refer to the Technet article below.
