WDS boot.wim driver injection problems.
Hello, I have been trying to inject NIC drivers into my windows 7 boot image and I havehad no success. I first attempted it through dism and everything goes fine with the driver installation. I unmount and commit the changes, and replace the image. But when I go to deploy an image and pxe boot the machine it just goes straight into capture image and does not bring me to the WDS menu to choose either a deploy or capture. I have tried everything that I can think of and it just does not want to work. WDS is running off of Windows 2003 server Std. service pack 2. If I do replace the boot image back to the original it is fine, it seems to not work properly when I inject drivers via imagex or dism. Thoughts?

Hi, There are two things need to be verified: 1. Please let me know your command (DISM) to inject the driver into the Windows 7 boot image; 2. Please let me know the error message you have received when injecting the driver into the Windows 7 boot image, especially the clues in the DISM.log; Since you are using the Windows Server 2003 as your WDS server, please run the following command in the command prompt with evaluated rights: WDSUTIL /get-server /show:all /detailed This command causes general server health information to be logged in the Application log and in the System log. And post back the output result. Regards, JamesJames Xiong TechNet Community Support
