WCF Service and Temporary ASP.NET files on Server 2008 R2
Hi, We have WCF services running under .net framework 4.0 on Server 2008 R2 (IIS 7.5). We recently had an issue where after the deployment to the actual WCF service (.dll change), the folder created in "temporary asp.net files" did not had the complete set of dlls. Because of which the service was throwing a ".dll or dependency not found" error. We deleted the folder from "temporary asp.net files" folder, it was re-created and after that everything was fine. The services are running in a load balanced environment between two virtual machines (hyper-v). the problem happened only on one machine and it was after sometime we came to know about this issue, because the smoke test requests were served by the other box which was ok. Question: What could have caused the folder in "temporary asp.net files" to have half of the dlls? Can this happen again? Is the cache folder only recreated when there is a deployment to the application folder? Thanks, Waheed
