If you upgrade from Windows XP SP2 to Windows Vista Beta 2, you can retain your files and settings, but you will not be able to downgrade again to Windows XP SP2 without performing a clean installation (i.e. formatting the system drive). However, you will be able to upgrade from Windows Vista Beta 2 to the RTM version after it releases, as long as you do that prior to the expiry of Windows Vista Beta 2, which is May 31st 2007. That will enable you to keep your data files intact.

At first I install the Vista Beta on a second HDD to the one i had XP on so i wouldnt screw things up. After I formatted my 2nd Hard Drive I asumed that it wouldd get rid of the choice on startup. The choice for me was "Earlier version or windows" (Which for me was XPSP2) or "Microsoft Windows." (Vista Beta 2) Microsoft Windows was the default one. Even though Vista wasnt installed anymore i still had this choice. It doesnt just load up XP like it used to before I installed the Vista Beta. How do i get rid of this choice at startup??
