Hi
My client has a server running Server 2012 with Hyper-V. The Hyper-V image is Server 2008. I changed the basic disk type in the Hyper-V to dynamic and need to change it back to basic. What tools can I use? Will this cause data loss or any type of application/software issues? Is it safe? Will I need to rebuild the Hyper-V server?
It was converted to dynamic in order to create a partition to do a system state backup and then copy the system state to another machine on the network.
A second query I have is to find out if there is a way to do a system state backup to another device or drive. When I tried to do a system state backup in the Hyper-V server it would not send it to any location on the network. I mapped drives and shared them however it would not work. The CMD prompt told me it was not possible to send a system state across a network or USB drive. Any ideas? Where am I going wrong? I am using the wbadmin command for the system state backup.
Regards
