Virtual Machine disspaears from Hyper V Console
We are running 3 virtual servers on the one host. SBS 2008, Server 2008 and Server 2000. Server 2000 was taking a long time to boot so I tried adding the legacy network adaptor. I received and error when I tried to apply the settings so I cancelled the operation. When I tried to restart the VM I got anther error saying the VM file did not exist. I could not edit the VM anymore. After I rebooted the host, the server 2000 virtual machine was not longer listed in Hyper V (the file still existed on the disk). The other 2 VM's were OK. I recreated the VM using the same VHD and repeated the process with the same result, twice. Any idea what is going on? Can I connect to the original VM? How do I avoid this in future?

Hi, If your VM is just disappeared from the Hyper-V Manager console, you can perform the suggestions in the following post to get it back. VM not appearing in Hyper-V Manager http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverhyperv/thread/135d1385-4b75-4737-80de-f8c517c25f8d The VM disappeared from the Hyper-V Manager console mostly cause by antivirus software, so I would like to confirm whether you have antivirus software on Hyper-V host machine. If you have antivirus software installed on Hyper-V host machine, you can refer to the following blog to add the exclusions.
