Have Windows 2008 R2 64bits. with SQL server 2012 SP1, and Visual studio 2010. Office is 32 bits.

Does not work with Excel connection. I tried both Excel 07 and 2003 versions and had similar error message about not registered.

Installed two packages as posted but same error.

Then I tried the old SSIS package opened with visual studio 2008 on the same machine, worked like a charm.

I do not want to keep both old and new packages. So any help is appreciated.

On a 64 bit machine you have to install & use the new ACE 64 bit data provider to access Excel files, you can get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
