Hi Arrowminds,Could you elaborate your network setting and VPN configruation?1. Can you ping Window Server 2003 which holds RRAS roles from home?2. Can you establish a VPN connection to the VPN server properly? If you receive any error message, please let me know the exact error WORD BY WORD.
3. Which VPN protocol do you use, PPTP or L2TP?
4. Please paste an unedit ipconfig /all of RRAS server. In addition, please collect the MPSReport of client and the server.

How to collect an MPS report:
1. Download the proper MPS Report tool from the website below.

2. Double-click to run it. If the requirement is not met, please follow the wizard to download and install them. After that, click Next, when the "Select the diagnostics you want to run" page appears, select "General"; Internet and Networking; Business Network; Server Components; click Next.
3. After collecting all log files, choose "Save the results". Choose a folder to save the <Computername>MPSReports.cab file. Please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give us the download address.

Hi Wilson
1) I have configured the Server 2003 RAS in the same way given on http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;323441.2) After that I came home and created VPN connection.3) But this was not able to connect to server.4) I cant establish VPN link so I cant ping my server from home.
The instructions given by microsoft are quite easy to implement but I dont know why I can not establish VPN link?? So wht should I do?

Hi Imran,
You need to ensure that your homecomputeris able to connect to your RRAS server through internet before you establish the VPN connection.
To toubleshoot the ping issue, you refer to theKB 323441 instruction:
Cause: Cannot connect to the VPN server over the Internet using the Ping.exe utility.
Solution: Because of the PPTP and L2TP over IPSec packet filtering that is configured on the Internet interface of the VPN server, Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packets used by the ping command are filtered out. To turn on the VPN server to respond to ICMP (ping) packets, add an input filter and an output filter that permit traffic for IP protocol 1 (ICMP traffic).
See the Windows Server 2003 Help and Support Center for more information about how to add a packet filter. Click Start to access the Windows Server 2003 Help and Support Center. After you can ping the RRAS server from home, then establish VPN link to your office again.
