VPN Setup on Server 2008
I am trying to setup VPN access for my users to access our Server 2008 R2. I have 2 NIC Cards with Internal and External IP Addresses.
From our network I am able to ping the External IP Address, but from outside our network I am not able to ping the External IP address? Not sure why.
* I'm not sure as to why I am not able to ping the external IP address
* do I need to change any settings to all my users to be able to access the server remotely using VPN?
I hope someone is able to assist.
Thanks
Jac

Hi Customer,
Thank you for your post.

When you ping, you send an ICMP Echo message (also known as an ICMP Echo Request message) and get an ICMP Echo Reply message in response. By default, Windows Firewall
does not allow incoming ICMP Echo messages, and therefore the computer cannot send an ICMP Echo Reply in response. So you might need to configure your Windows firewall, please take a look at the following link.

You could configure your Windows 2008 RRAS as a VPN server, please take a look at the following blog.
